FAQ – Safety + All the Ins and Outs

SAFETY & SECURITY MEASURES AT THE EAGLE

Eagle Wilton Manors takes the safety and security of our guests and staff very seriously. Along with our regular customer service workshops, our security staff also participates annually in multiple paid trainings that include CPR and AED training, Naarcan, first aid and active shooter training to name a few topics. We encourage any staff member to complete the 10 week Wilton Manors Citizens Police Academy.

After safety, an issue we place a lot of focus on is the prevalence of pickpockets working on Wilton Drive.  We have worked with WMPD very closely for some time, and continue to do so in an effort to catch these criminals and put an end to this problem for our guests. As a result, we are occasionally rewarded with the satisfaction of watching one of them take a ride in a Wilton Manors Police Cruiser.

We also take many measures to simply keep them out of the Eagle altogether. It seems sometimes that no matter how solid we think a new strategy is or how much money we invest, the pickpockets find some way around it. From 2022 to 2024 we added nearly $100,000 to our security budget, primarily in an effort to address this problem.

Contrary to common practice, we have always been very open about pickpockets, announcing it to all customers via signage and often verbally at the front door. We have a lit neon sign that announces, “ACTIVE PICKPOCKETS.”  We have posted photos of suspected pickpockets, often provided to us by WMPD, at our entrances. 

It is our goal to provide a safe and secure environment for our guests without our efforts being intrusive or disruptive. You can help us by leaving your valuables at home or in a locker. If you must carry your phone, consider a security tether or other measure or at least keep it in a pocket that is more secure. If you believe you are a victim of a pickpocket at the Eagle, please complete our Lost and Found form on our website. It provides data that is helpful in our efforts to combat pick pockets. And of course, if you see something, say something.  Our security is always a few steps away. 

Lastly, our security team works very hard and is extremely diligent in their efforts to protect us, to protect you and to prepare for the unimaginable so that you can be free to enjoy your time with us at Eagle Wilton Manors and just “be you.” Please be understanding and cooperative with them and, if you are so inclined, please show them your appreciation on your way in and out.

SAFETY CHECKS

No matter who you think you know – No matter who you think you are friends with – No matter what list you think you’re on – No matter what you paid – no matter what owner’s name you drop –  Absolutely everyone must be searched before entering our space. No weapons of any kind are permitted. Out side drinks and alcohol are not permitted. Drugs are not permitted.

BAGS & BACKPACKS

All backpacks, duffel bags or other items of a size that you might use to pack a change of clothes for a day trip are prohibited and may not be brought into the Eagle.

Small bags like fanny packs and purses meant to carry items for constant use throughout the day like notepads, lipsticks, wallets and phones, are generally permitted with the reserved right to refuse any bag for any reason at the discretion of Eagle staff without explanation. 

All bags brought into the Eagle, permitted or not, will be searched before entry and again when leaving, with or without cause, at the discretion of Eagle staff.

ALL YOUR STUFF AND LOCKERS

Your stuff is your responsibility. It is not ours. We have lockers. Rent one. Stuff get’s lost and some stuff get’s stolen. Not much stuff gets found. Lock your stuff up.

Lockers are rented in the store starting at 9 PM daily for $5 plus a $10 refundable deposit.

I LOST MY PHONE / KEYS / CREDIT CARD / ID / SHIRT / HUSBAND

If you lost something during your visit, please check in the Leather Store.  All found items are taken to the leather store as soon as they are found. If the leather store does not have your item, then it has not been found.

If you are checking on an item after we have closed, your best option is to wait until we reopen the next day and check in the leather store.

Alternately, you can fill out the Lost or Stolen Item Form on our Lost and Found Page and someone will contact you in the next 48 hours ONLY if your item has been turned in.

We cannot return calls or texts regarding lost or stolen items.

Clothing items are kept for 2-4 weeks and then donated to Out of The Closet.

MY PHONE / KEYS / CREDIT CARD / ID / SHIRT / HUSBAND WAS STOLEN

NO PHYSICAL ID – NO ENTRY

This is a legal requirement. We only accept valid physical government issued photo ID’s. We do not accept Photos of ID’s. All ID’s must be physically scanned.

IF I GO SEE A MAN ABOUT A HORSE, CAN I GET BACK IN?

Maybe.  If there is a cover charge and you have been given a complimentary wrist band, you might have to pay when you come back.  Ask the doorman before you leave.

Even if you already paid a cover charge, you will not be permitted to re-enter at the discretion of the doorman. If you are intoxicated for example.

And no matter what – you must go through the safety check upon re-entry.

CELL PHONE SEARCH

You may also be searched when exiting the club. You must be able to unlock every cell phone you are carrying. If you cannot, you will be “asked politely” to wait with several of our security guards until the police arrive.

LAST ENTRY IS 15 MINUTES BEFORE CLOSING

That’s it – We close at 3 AM on Friday and Saturday and 2 AM every other day.

OK – Bullshit – There’s no such thing at the Eagle. You should look here and here if you think you’re VIP.

PEACE, LOVE & RESPECT

The Eagle isn’t for everyone but it is up to everyone to decide that for themselves. The only thing you’ve got to be to walk through the door is just Be You. The only thing you’ve got to do to hang with us is show peace and respect to everyone you find inside, Do these two things alone and you just might find love in our space.  On the flip side – Racist, homophobic or other hate speech will result in your being escorted out of our space.

CONSENT

Never touch anyone without their consent. EVER.  No means no.

DRESS CODE

The dress code is “be street legal” except at certain times in the space we call CODE Bar. See that code here.

BUT CAN I WEAR...

…underwear on Jock Strap NIGHT? – What ever it takes to just be you. But underwear is not a jock strap so you might not get the drink special. It’s up to the bartender.  (Note: Most Eagle bartenders are pushovers for a man in sexy underwear.)

…a jock strap on Underwear-Harness-EDM=Sunday-Any Night?– A jock strap fine by us any time, And since it is the sexiest kind of underwear, you will even get the drink special on Underwear Night.

WOMEN AT THE EAGLE

FIRST– We believe trans men are men. SECOND – Everyone is welcome at the Eagle who is respectful of our guests and who understands the importance of spaces where we are truly free to be ourselves, or “bu” as our slogan urges. THIRD – Management has the right to refuse entry to anyone who does not respect this position.

Eagle Rewards Program

Important News

Effective May 1st, 2025 – If you are a member of our rewards program here at Eagle Wilton Manors, you probably recall that last summer when we introduced the new phone app and rewards program, we had high expectations. Unfortunately, the app and its capabilities fell far short of what the vendor claimed.

As we attempted to work with the vendor in an effort to resolve the issues, it became apparent that the company would never be able to meet our standards oe deliver what they promised and we started exploring better, more stable options.  Over the course of the past two weeks our vendor’s system appears to have completely failed and stopped functioning.

We have already identified a new vendor that we are confident will deliver an experience we can be proud of. Unfortunately, the customizations, onboarding and testing process will take 4-6 weeks. For obvious reasons, we do not want to rush that.

We do have a recent copy of all our data with the old vendor.  All of your points, dollar value and prizes are intact as of last week. In the next few days we will temporarily migrate your accounts to our POS system. During that migration there will be no accumulation or redemption of points.

Once your accounts have been restored on the POS system, you will once again be able to accumulate points but in order to keep things simple there will be no redemption until we are finally with our new vendor.  Until then, any balances you might see, whether on our POS or the old app, are likely to be  inaccurate. We will let you know once the correct data has been restored.

FAQ – VIP’s and How to Become One

What are the benefits of VIP Status?

Guests who have attained VIP Status* at Eagle Wilton Manors may enjoy the following benefits:

  • Free entry on select days when an entry fee or cover charge is being collected. **
  • VIP Guests get to skip any line at the entrance.***
  • VIP’s may bring ONE non-VIP, paying guest wth them to skip the line
  • Early access to ticketed events
  • Invitations to VIP only events
  • and more
*VIP Benefits are subject to change. VIP Status can be revoked for any guest by Eagle Management at anytime without notice.
How will I know I have reached VIP Status?

Some say they knew it from birth, others say it became apparent in their high school locker room and for many there was never a doubt.

But in your case, you will know as you have earned 1,500 points in a 6 month look-back period. You will immediately see a VIP badge on your membership card. You can immediately start enjoying the benefits of being a VIP.  You can learn more about VIP Status HERE.

How do I maintain my VIP Status?

Be sure to keep using your rewards account for every transaction. So long as your points continue to accumulate at a rate above the threshold you reached to get your VIP status, you will always be VIP. You can see on the app how far above or below that threshold you are at anytime.

How long will I be a VIP?

You become a VIP on the day you cross the threshold and you keep your VIP status through the end of the next full 6 month VIP period. All existing VIP’s are automatically re-evaluated on January 1st and July 1st when your spending levels over the prior 6 months are checked to see if you qualify to keepo your VIP status. You are guaranteed to be VIP for one full six month period. So if you were to reach VIP status on Novemerb 15th, your first full month period would start on January 1st and you would not be reevaluated until July 1st.

Can I use my free cover charge every time there is a cover charge?**
Almost all days when cover is being charged at the door, VIPs will get in free, There are a few exceptions:

  • Events produced by third parties such as promoters, non-profits fundraising events are typically not eligible for free cover charge.
  • Major Holidays like Thanksgiving Weekend, Halloween, Pride, New Year’s Eve, etc. may not be eligible for free cover charge.
  • Free cover charge is available at the discretion of Eagle Management on a case by case basis.
How do I skip the skip the line at the front door?***

Under normal circumstances, any line at the front entrance, comes up Wilton Drive from the South in front of Grilled Cheese Restaurant.

VIP’s and others who have skip the line privileges, should go directly to the door person closest to the entry and show your VIP card. On rare occasion, there will be a very short line of VIP’S.  Please wait your turn.  VIP’s have priority entry over all other classes. You will then be checked with a metal detector and your id will be scanned. After the security checks you will be directed to the counter where you will show the VIP Free Entry reward that you wil find in your wallet.

If I leave and come back, do I have to go through security at the front door again?

That’s up to you but you need to explain this word we do not undertand. ⇒⇒”leave.”

We prefer that guests use the rear entrance who already have a wristband and will come and go and come and go and come again throughout the night. It helps reduce congestion at the front door and the rear entry usually has a quicker smoother easier entry ..very nice security guard.  You will still have to be checked with the metal detector and any bags will be searched no matter how many times you re-enter or how good you are at it. But, like we said, it is up to you whether you choose the security check at the front or the back door.

 

I am VIP and I am allowed to skip the line. I should not have to take time to go through security checks.
  • The Skip the line privilege does not get you immediate entry to the Eagle. It gets you to the front of the line waiting to enter the Eagle.where everyone, including VIP Guests MUST go through any and all security checks.
  • This check takes only a moment and includes being checked by the metal detector, searching any bags AND scanning of your photo ID.
  • ALL GUESTS GO THROUGH ALL SECURITY CHECKS BEFORE ENTRY. HAVING VIP STATUS OR THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING INCLUDED ON A GUEST LIST  DOES NOT EXCUSE ANYONE FROM THE SECURITY CHECKS.
I am VIP and I will not be delayed at the door for any reason.

Guests who refuse to show a valid photo ID and pass through security checks upon entry may have their VIP status REVOKED without notice.

When you participate in our security measures you are helping us keep everyone safe. When you blow past our security staff like an entitled princess, you are projecting that you believe your privilege is more important than our safety. This is a good website for you to study

I come to the Eagle very often and the door guys know me. Do I need to be checked and scanned, or can I jut walk right in?

No matter how often a guest may visit, we often have new security staff who may not recognize you.  And other security staff who may recognize you from Scruff but have no real idea who you are. Other guests who do not know you may question the integrity of our door people and their own safety when they see others getting in without being checked.  Permitting latitude for some guests to bypass security ineveitably results in more and more guests bypassing securtity, putting all of us at greater risk. And selectively checking guests can easily lead to accusations of discrimination. By taking a brief moment to be checked you are helping our staff keep everyone safe.

How many friends get in free with me?

Zero.  You may escort one friend to to skip to the front of the line with you. But that friend still has to pay. And you both must go through all security checks.

I have four friends staying with me from out of town. Can they all come to the front of the line with me?

We are sorry to tell you that three of your friends are about to learn they are not your favorite. You may escort one friend to skip to the front of the line with you. But that friend still has to pay. And you both must go through all security checks. The other three? They’re on their own and when they finally get in the club, probably looking for a new friend. …behind the tires.
